Very minor News Flash but one part of a mod I've been making is done which means it may almost be ready so that's cool.
Also remember how I said my macOS partition got corrupted? Luckily the macOS Installation made a recovery partition which does work so just incase I need to install macOS, I can.
Not sure if I've said this but I've contemplated installing macOS fully on my PC as long as I have nothing to lose and/or am able to transfer everything important over. And Spring Break *might* be soon if I'm not mistaken (maybe one or two weeks, I don't know when Spring starts.) I don't really know why I brung this up but yeah.
In theory, if I were to install macOS, I could do so, then switch back to Linux, move some things to there, and then wipe every other partition *if needed* and then make some partitions with Boot Camp (considering I have a good USB drive and what not.) But what happens to all those Linux memories and apps that won't run on the latest version of macOS my PC supports? Maybe they can be ran on Windows? Earlier today I saw a video of a guy installing Windows 11 on an unsupported Macbook, and it seems he only managed to get it working via Boot Camp. Boot Camp requires the system to be partitioned with Boot Camp itself (so sadly no usage of Disk Utility or external tools.)
He first had to install Windows 7 (as that was what his copy of Boot Camp needed) and then he upgraded to a modified Windows 11.
What do I truly have to lose? Well some source code for some things that don't have GitHub repositories could be considered lost, as well as lots of art I've made and archived. I also have a few QEMU virtual machines (I have one open as I type)
And then I have some funny images and edits and other misc things. I also have software installed via WINE that would need to be backed up (luckily saved in a "Wine Apps" folder) and then some data for apps and games. There's also Haxelibs I'd need to back up, as well as screenshots and Photos.
I also have quite a bunch of folders on the side to put into perspective:
(The things in red relate to a surprise.)
- Home Folder, which is hardly anything.
- My Desktop folder, which is mostly shortcuts, random images, and meaningless text files.
- Documents Folder, which has lots of valuable things.
- Downloads folder, which is half random, half important. Some of the stuff I was planning on removing anyway.
- Music folder only has one file, which isn't important.
- Pictures folder has a ton of pictures.
- Videos has
- Drawings (including the two folders below it) have a bunch of drawings
- Schoolwork stuff
- App screenshots is just a bunch of redirs
- Fonts are very nice and are special to me.
- Source Code has some important and lesser things including the three folders below.
- and etc.
Sorry if this is all just random, I'm very bored right now. I might just upload some drawings instead.
