SIG7IvanPoopy's News

Posted by SIG7IvanPoopy - 2 weeks ago

I'm startin' to feel kinda like a natural at video editing. Though I have lots to learn, especially since the program I'm using may or may not be higher level, I'm dedicated to making what I'm makin' to be good.

Makin' a YouTube video based off of what was slightly mentioned on the previous News Flash, and it's going well. Though I had to redownload two video files from Google Drive, since for whatever reason they didn't originally come with the folder download. (Maybe since both files were over 400 MB, but I feel there's larger files in there.) I knew something was wrong when I suddenly went from a part before a tutorial to a timelapse of me putting Developer Mode on my Chromebook.

So far I'm a minute in, if I were to guess, I'd estimate this would be about 30/40 minutes to an hour. Though I've only scratched the surface. I still need to figure out how I'd put stuff like what audio I want to use and the timing of some things.

Since you've all been so kind, here's a little sneak peak:

Trying to make this look as good as I possibly can for a video without a budget.

I'm hoping I can get this out by Saturday (it's currently 2 AM Friday) but if it doesn't get out by Saturday, then maybe next week.

I originally had a draft here but had to force my PC to shut down due to a bug with an option I set a few days ago.

In a nutshell, I found a thing called FridayLight, from the five screenshots I saw, I liked what I saw minus a few things. I did like the GameBanana browser cool, and the UI kinda reminds me of Steam but better. I felt the "Download Custom Mod" and "Select Mod Type" could've been shortened and combined. (Mod type could be figured with a dropdown and such.)

While I did have my criticisms (no hard feelings), I set out on making my own design for one. Here's what I came up with:

Long time no see, Newgrounds!

Things have been great. If not better today.

Trying to remember things as I watch YouTube and upload stuff to Google Drive.

I kinda got on time with schoolwork so I may have more time for stuff. Decided to slowly do work on SCS' (a FNF' mod of mine) but not yet major work on it.

Tomorrow (writing this part it's 11:52 PM) is Monday so I'm going to try to get stuff done on then.

___12 AM Stuff__

Been more invested in modding base FNF', though it's all kinda held back by other stuff.

Earlier (4-27) I tried to install Windows onto a Chromebook, though couldn't, so I ended up installing Linux onto it! I've recorded all of it, and I'm planning on making it into a YouTube video. Should be up hopefully by today or tomorrow (waiting for things to upload to Google Drive, it's taking forever. I would've uploaded the files directly from my phone and onto my PC, but that's been kinda buggy and randomly not letting my phone share files every couple seconds, so there's no other option.)

Not sure what else to put here for this forum post as I've been getting sidetracked.

On my Chromebook since I accidentally unplugged my PC, except this time I'm in my room after showering so if anyone were to guess, they'd assume I'm getting dressed. (Still naked.)

Went to check Reddit as I posted a question on there and...

iu_1384343_8236069.png

That's the most amount of Reddit notifications I've had on there ever. Wow.

Update: the question was about "video game console" vibes for Linux and most responded with Bazite, SteamOS, or something similar.

I'm on my Chromebook right now lol.

iu_1381916_8236069.png So many reactions.

Also some small work had been done on the Conductor, it works fine.

Also only on my Chromebook to see if the charger works, as my Switch died and I wasn't sure if the issue was either the charger or the system. Turns out it was just extra dead so yeah.

While I'm here I might as well back up some stuff I didn't get to back up originally. Might draw too, not sure.

Yesterday I tried to spend all day trying to make a Conductor (a thing that can sync stuff to music) on my own but man that was hard. I had two previous tutorials I referenced that helped for the basis, and then I looked at some other conductors for other music games (albeit in the same programming language that I was using, Haxe) and found some complex and simple ones. Most were complex admittedly. Though I found the first version of FNF's conductor (which somehow remained unchanged for a very long time.) And that was very simple. Though I went to see the usage there was for it and there were so many references to it...

All in all it's an experience. I did copy and paste less than a line of code from it to see what would happen and I think it made the Conductor a tiny bit accurate, but I haven't gotten anything to sync to the music I have or a metronome yet.

It's been quite a while, hasn't it?

Well, I have some things I'd like to share on this entry.

Remember on the last news flash on how I stated one part of a mod was almost done? Well, that mod is out now! Go play it when you can, [Inner Monologue v1.01 | Friday Night Funkin'] (As of typing, both files have to be installed.)

What was finished was a chart that held this back a couple months, but now that it's done (for the time being) I've decided I'm going to continue work on two mods I didn't get to work on as much as I'd like to.

What's funny is that like 30 minutes to an hour ago I remembered that the Friday Night Funkin' update comes out tomorrow. Can't wait! (Even though tomorrow I'm going to have to get a lot of schoolwork done since I have six things I have to do if I want to stay ahead and some things for next Monday too. Basically I'm trying to stay a week ahead since Spring Break allowed me to but I didn't do any schoolwork for last Friday/this Friday.)

Funnily enough the mod I mentioned earlier I released on 11:59 PM on a Friday night. (And then like two days later, at 4:50 AM today, I had to make a hotfix.)

So on Friday I was finishing the mod and uploading it, but what about some of the week earlier, or how about Saturday?

Well, earlier in the week (on Wednesday I believ- wait no, Thursday) I woke up after a couple attempts knowing I had to get ready for the barber shop.

My mom and sister went out to get stuff for a birthday present for one of her friends. I was told I was to also go (since everyone thought that my sister and her friends were going to the mall* and one of the friends' brothers was also meant to come too) so I was included.

I think it was why I got a haircut when they returned. Then when I returned (the haircut took 2 hrs) I didn't get to do much as my mom was sayin' how she and my sister were going back to the store and that I should come along (I stayed in the car) and then after that my mom dropped my sister off home and I went to therapy albeit a bit unprepared.

But before all of that, when I was getting dressed, I put on the latest Nintendo Direct, and wow. Pretty cool stuff. I can't believe there's going to be a sequel to Tomodachi Life. (I can't believe they have ears now/again.) Also I find it funny how it took me quite a while to realize Rhythm Heaven was in the direct too (it was until they said it that I got it, since I didn't think of anything when I saw it at first other than it looked nice and easy.) I don't really know what to expect from it other than timed stuff since I haven't played a Rhythm Heaven game. Or really games from lots of franchises, such as The Legend of Zelda or Animal Crossing.

Anyway, Saturday rolls around. I didn't do any schoolwork then as I found out there was some bugs with the FNF mod I dropped (due to a lack of files but only after.)

Me and my sister head into a blue car, and the first destination we go to is a- GoodWill? *Yeah, we went to a freakin' GoodWill. So there was a ton of clothes (like 90% of the store), some antiques, some dirty dishes and some dirty antiques, lots of toys, and lots of movies, and a very small selection of video games and books. Like there was Guitar Hero: Rock Band for the Wii, some fitness game for the Wii (not Wii Fit), and then two copies of a fitness game for the Xbox 360, another game with the same branding for the same system, and Kinect Adventures. Not sure why anyone would abandon that game though. (Maybe they were fat.)

I read a simple book (Princess Tiara's Big Band Blowout or something like that), then it was getting hot so I took off my sweater and played MarioKart Tour until we left. We then got some snacks, plates, cups, and me a Pineapple Fanta (it was great). We then went to some park I've never been to and ate stuff (oh we also got pizza and ate it there) and then played a game of UNO. I somehow lost the game since everyone kept piling +2s on me. This is the start of a villain origin story right here guys.

Then we sadly had to go home (there was some stuff I wanted to eat but didn't get to D:<) and then I went to do what I was going to do before having to leave.

I compiled the FNF mod with GitHub actions so there would be a Windows release but then didn't know that:

  • I forgot to put some files in the GitHub repo.
  • For whatever reason some text was aligned wrong.

I was planning on compiling it with the Windows version of Haxe installed with Wine but I couldn't get the C++ compiler files to properly install so I went nuts and installed a bunch of random stuff to no avail and ended up realizing that I should've just ran and debugged it from within.

Lots of files I ended up not including. But in the end of the day, it was worth it, even if I only got five hours of sleep. Speaking of, I'm going to try to improve my sleep schedule on April Fools day so I can wake up nice and early to see the Nintendo Direct on April 2nd.

Okay I don't have any more nonsense to ramble on about, so have good day!

Oh also I just checked DeviantArt and wow. iu_1376593_8236069.png The March 14th drawing did exceptionally well there.

Yesterday while I was at therapy I showed my therapist a drawing I posted to here on Newgrounds and then he basically looked at every other drawing uploaded prior.)

Very minor News Flash but one part of a mod I've been making is done which means it may almost be ready so that's cool.

Also remember how I said my macOS partition got corrupted? Luckily the macOS Installation made a recovery partition which does work so just incase I need to install macOS, I can.

Not sure if I've said this but I've contemplated installing macOS fully on my PC as long as I have nothing to lose and/or am able to transfer everything important over. And Spring Break *might* be soon if I'm not mistaken (maybe one or two weeks, I don't know when Spring starts.) I don't really know why I brung this up but yeah.

In theory, if I were to install macOS, I could do so, then switch back to Linux, move some things to there, and then wipe every other partition *if needed* and then make some partitions with Boot Camp (considering I have a good USB drive and what not.) But what happens to all those Linux memories and apps that won't run on the latest version of macOS my PC supports? Maybe they can be ran on Windows? Earlier today I saw a video of a guy installing Windows 11 on an unsupported Macbook, and it seems he only managed to get it working via Boot Camp. Boot Camp requires the system to be partitioned with Boot Camp itself (so sadly no usage of Disk Utility or external tools.)

He first had to install Windows 7 (as that was what his copy of Boot Camp needed) and then he upgraded to a modified Windows 11.

What do I truly have to lose? Well some source code for some things that don't have GitHub repositories could be considered lost, as well as lots of art I've made and archived. I also have a few QEMU virtual machines (I have one open as I type)iu_1360914_8236069.webp

And then I have some funny images and edits and other misc things. I also have software installed via WINE that would need to be backed up (luckily saved in a "Wine Apps" folder) and then some data for apps and games. There's also Haxelibs I'd need to back up, as well as screenshots and Photos.

I also have quite a bunch of folders on the side to put into perspective:

iu_1360915_8236069.png (The things in red relate to a surprise.)

  • Home Folder, which is hardly anything.
  • My Desktop folder, which is mostly shortcuts, random images, and meaningless text files.iu_1360916_8236069.webp
  • Documents Folder, which has lots of valuable things.iu_1360917_8236069.png
  • Downloads folder, which is half random, half important. Some of the stuff I was planning on removing anyway.
  • Music folder only has one file, which isn't important.
  • Pictures folder has a ton of pictures.
  • Videos hasiu_1360918_8236069.png
  • Drawings (including the two folders below it) have a bunch of drawings
  • Schoolwork stuff
  • App screenshots is just a bunch of redirs
  • Fonts are very nice and are special to me.
  • Source Code has some important and lesser things including the three folders below.
  • and etc.

Sorry if this is all just random, I'm very bored right now. I might just upload some drawings instead.

In the sky

Birds will fly

And here I ask,

Why can't I?

I try to think.

I can only blink.

Mind numb

Feeling dumb

Plans feel weary

Like a sore thumb.
